Poison Man to Pastor

November 8, 2015 by Aaron and Lori

Tokiung teaching

In some parts of the world they are referred to as sorcerers or witch doctors, here they are known as poison men.  Men who can, through the use of incantations and potions, cast spells to either help, harm, or even kill other people.

Kiung was one of them.  He used to be sought out my men and women to get this magic or poison worked on others.  After being deep into that for several years and not finding the answers to life and fulfillment that he sought he became religious.

Religion takes different forms and beliefs all over the world.  In many places here, religion is a list of laws and regulation to adhere to, prayers and songs to sing, and works to do in order to appease God and gain his blessings or maybe even go to heaven.

Kiung was one of them.  He became religions and began to rise on the ladder within that religious system and made some radical changes in lifestyle.  After being emerged in that for several years and not finding the basic answers and security he longed for, he was given the chance to hear God’s Word taught clearly in a way he had never known.

For the first time answers started to come to him.  Now, he is a pastor in the Patpatar church and teaches and shepherds those around him who like him want answers, security, and fulfillment.  Awhile back some of our friends came and visited and began asking Kiung about his testimony.  He answered their questions in the trade language while they videoed him.
