{"id":190,"date":"2010-04-02T04:18:10","date_gmt":"2010-04-01T18:18:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/aaron-luse\/?p=190"},"modified":"2011-02-24T05:07:45","modified_gmt":"2011-02-23T19:07:45","slug":"resurrection","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/aaron-luse\/2010\/04\/02\/resurrection\/","title":{"rendered":"Resurrection"},"content":{"rendered":"<p align=\"center\"><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><em> <\/em><em> <\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><em><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-192\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/aaron-luse\/files\/2011\/02\/IMG_27891-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_2789\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/aaron-luse\/files\/2011\/02\/IMG_27891-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/aaron-luse\/files\/2011\/02\/IMG_27891-1024x682.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff\"><em>Our first believers\u2019 baptism.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Today, Good Friday, we celebrated the death, burial, and resurrection of our Savior.\u00a0 It was extra exciting because we had our first believers\u2019 baptism.\u00a0 We met together at about 9:00 this morning and most stayed until about 4:00 in the afternoon.\u00a0 The first hour we sang, prayed, and I taught about the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus.\u00a0 Then as a group of believers we all went down to the beach by a small bay in the ocean.\u00a0 The group of Patpatar people already sitting and relaxing on\u00a0 the beach were a bit startled by us coming, but <!--more-->we were glad to see it would be a \u201cpublic testimony.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I explained once again to the believers and to those looking on the meaning of baptism.\u00a0 The believers nodded in agreement that it couldn\u2019t help save them but was rather a public testimony of their faith in Christ and of their new standing in God\u2019s clan and a symbol of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus.\u00a0 Still it was difficult for many of them to take the step and be baptized.<\/p>\n<p>You see, baptism is not new here in the Patpatar tribe.\u00a0 In fact, there are many baptisms of many forms and kinds here.\u00a0 And much like ancient days, many of the Patpatar baptisms show allegiance to a group.\u00a0 So there is a lot of pressure from the clans and communities to not be baptized by others.<\/p>\n<p>Nonetheless, today four people were baptized including Avalon, our oldest daughter.\u00a0 Each answered the questions I asked them and gave a testimony of their faith in Jesus.\u00a0 Each one was baptized.\u00a0 Each one could not stop smiling afterwards.\u00a0 They had taken a stand, obeyed God\u2019s command, and had let others know of their faith in the Savior.<\/p>\n<p>Afterwards we all returned to our meeting place and ate a big meal together including a special meat \u2013 lamb meat.\u00a0 The next several hours were casually spent with small groups of Patpatar believers sitting around and talking about the \u201cLamb of God\u201d and talking about His work for them.\u00a0 Oh, and already others are talking about being baptized.<\/p>\n<p>Because He is risen,<\/p>\n<p>Aaron<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-thumbnail wp-image-193\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/aaron-luse\/files\/2011\/02\/IMG_2783-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_2783\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em> <\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #3366ff\"><em>Avalon being baptized.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Aaron<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Our first believers\u2019 baptism.
