{"id":234,"date":"2010-10-24T06:30:17","date_gmt":"2010-10-23T20:30:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/aaron-luse\/?p=234"},"modified":"2011-02-19T07:53:24","modified_gmt":"2011-02-18T21:53:24","slug":"ill-be-home-for-christmas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/aaron-luse\/2010\/10\/24\/ill-be-home-for-christmas\/","title":{"rendered":"I&#8217;ll be home for Christmas"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><em><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-221\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/aaron-luse\/files\/2011\/02\/IMG_3114-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_3114\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/aaron-luse\/files\/2011\/02\/IMG_3114-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/aaron-luse\/files\/2011\/02\/IMG_3114-1024x682.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>Singing with some of the believers at sunset.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Dear family and friends,<\/p>\n<p>We will be home in the States for Christmas this year\u2026and not just in our dreams!\u00a0 Since our Christmas with family in America in 2000 prior to coming to Papua New Guinea, we have only been back home for Christmas once.\u00a0 So, we are excited to reunite with family and friends and experience those Christmas traditions once again.<\/p>\n<p>Many of you know that we have been without co-workers in the tribe for a while due to the Kunzers needed extended Home Assignment and Madonna\u2019s treatment for cancer in Australia.\u00a0 Thankfully, Lord willing, both will be returning to the tribe at some point in 2011, to continue the work that has begun here among the Patpatar people.\u00a0 At this point in time, with the young group of Patpatar believers and \u00a0so many aspects of the ministry being new, we don\u2019t feel that it would be good to leave them without help<!--more-->and teaching for long periods of time.\u00a0 So we have decided to push our normal Home Assignment (furlough) time back another year to 2012.\u00a0 However, we greatly feel the need to get back to America at least for a little while and so will be coming home this Christmas.<\/p>\n<p>We will be arriving in Sioux City in mid-December and leaving from there to spend Christmas in Oklahoma with Lori\u2019s family.\u00a0 We will be mostly around Sioux City in January and February before leaving to come back to PNG the end of February.\u00a0 I know we won\u2019t be able to see all of our family, friends, and supporters in that amount of time, and we will have to wait until 2012 for some of you, but we look forward to seeing those of you that we can.<\/p>\n<p>We are excited to see family and friends again.\u00a0 We look forward to getting out of the tribe for a while.\u00a0 We are anxious to get some much needed rest.\u00a0 The girls are excited and are asking if it will be cold like when we travel in the car with the air conditioning on. \u00a0Lori gets to be involved with the name exchange with her family this year and is making plans with them.<\/p>\n<p>I know this update didn\u2019t focus on the Patpatar, but we wanted to let you know our plans for the coming months.\u00a0 Pray with us as we try to finish well with the first literacy class, our study with the believers through the book of Romans, and several other things in ministry by the beginning of December.<\/p>\n<p>ALL for Him,<\/p>\n<p>Aaron<\/p>\n<p>Fact: The coldest it has gotten here in the Tribe since we have been here is 71 degrees.\u00a0 Usually when it dips down below 80 degrees our girls disappear into their rooms and reappear with their sweatshirts on.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-thumbnail wp-image-214\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/aaron-luse\/files\/2011\/02\/IMG_3061-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_3061\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Guess what Sierra wants for Christmas.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Singing with some of the believers at sunset.
