{"id":306,"date":"2011-08-13T23:17:24","date_gmt":"2011-08-13T13:17:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/aaron-luse\/?p=306"},"modified":"2011-10-10T23:29:43","modified_gmt":"2011-10-10T13:29:43","slug":"a-decade","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/aaron-luse\/2011\/08\/13\/a-decade\/","title":{"rendered":"A Decade"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"color: #008000\"><em><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-308\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/aaron-luse\/files\/2011\/08\/IMG_4202b-300x238.jpg\" alt=\"Misiang and Pauline\" width=\"300\" height=\"238\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/aaron-luse\/files\/2011\/08\/IMG_4202b-300x238.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/aaron-luse\/files\/2011\/08\/IMG_4202b.jpg 965w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"color: #008000\"><em>One of the families reviewing over some notes<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>August 12, 2001:<\/p>\n<p>With the stops along the way, it had been three days of travel.\u00a0 Jumping time zones, standing in customs lines, and squeezing in crowded airplanes made sleep a bit of a luxury.\u00a0 Most of our luggage had been lost in transit, but at least it made it easier to carry our now one year old baby girl.\u00a0 For so long \u00a0we had been praying for this day.\u00a0 We were hungry to get into a tribe learn their language, translate the Bible, and teach them the truth of God\u2019s Word.<\/p>\n<p>I remember leading my wife down the stairs and off the plane into the heat and humidity.\u00a0 The airplanes had gotten successively smaller with each step towards our destination.<!--more--> The last one had been filled with unfamiliar smells, sights, and sounds, but that was only an appetizer to what was awaiting our arrival.\u00a0 We had finally made it to Papua New Guinea.\u00a0 It was a strange combination of exhaustion and excitement at the same time.\u00a0 I wanted nothing more than to find a place to finally unpack my bags and go to sleep while at the same time wanting to go do what we had come to do.<\/p>\n<p>We didn\u2019t know what God was going to do with our family in the coming years but were excited to see.<\/p>\n<p>August 12, 2011:<\/p>\n<p>I fumbled around for quite awhile to try to turn off the alarm clock.\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0It had been the third night in a row that I had been in the village and in my office, finalizing all the sessions for the seminar, printing and compiling booklets, and visiting with Patpatar believers until the early hours of the morning.\u00a0 They were hungry for the truth of God\u2019s Word for their family and we were so excited when all 16 families showed up on the first day.\u00a0 For so long I had been praying for the families in the Patpatar church and the fact that many of them had an unbelieving spouse who wasn\u2019t even interested in hearing the Bible. \u00a0Upon the completion of our study of the book of Ephesians the believers wanted to know even more.<\/p>\n<p>The details had finally come together last minute and God had answered so many prayers.\u00a0 This was the second day of the 3 day workshop about God\u2019s plan for the family.\u00a0 Once again the attendance was great.\u00a0 I ended the day of teaching and Lori with the help of our 3 girls finished her sharing, cooking for 60, and caring for the little children so their mothers could be taught.\u00a0 I was exhausted and excited at the same time.\u00a0 I wanted nothing more than to shower off the dirt and sweat and crawl in bed while at the same time wanting to visit more, teach more, and be with the families that so badly needed help from God\u2019s Word.<\/p>\n<p>We don\u2019t know what God is going to do with these families, but we are excited to see.<\/p>\n<p>Ten years older,<\/p>\n<p>Aaron<\/p>\n<p>Fact &#8211;
