Things are moving on

May 30, 2012 by Aaron and Amy Speitelsbach

We have been back in the country for about 6 months now. Not much has changed since then, we are still continuing to learn the Glarro language which remains quite challenging in spite of the progress that we made so far. But as you can imagine, with a growing vocabulary, we also get more and more words that sound just alike but have a slight tonal difference only. I will try to make and upload a recording of some similar words soon, so that you can get an idea of what I am talking about. šŸ™‚

We also have started to build our own house in the village. We want to give the mud house with a thatch roof that we are currently living in back to the villager who owns it. He was very kind in letting us use it for the timeĀ being, but now we are looking forward to moving into a more drip proof house soon. (see picture)
