Writing Bible lessons in the vernacular

August 20, 2025 by Aaron and Amy Speitelsbach

In 2019 Aaron dove into developing Bible lessons in the Glaro language. But how does one do that, so that they communicate the message clearly and are still easy to listen to and have natural to flow in Glaro?
That being our main concern we knew we needed some help. We were able to communicate in Glaro by now, but writing Bible lessons, that is on a whole different level. While we still determined the content, we needed help organizing it in a way that makes sense and it easy to follow for our Glaro friends. That sounds easier than done. It took us several times to go over the same lesson, until we got a somewhat smooth lesson done. Realizing that this is becoming a lengthy process, we tried to take shortcuts, but the lessons always ended up being hard to follow, or even confusing.

The overall plan was to create chronological bible lessons, that would start with the Creation and end with the return of Christ and the new Heaven and Earth. Given that getting a lesson ready to teach would take quite some time, we wanted to get a good number of them ready ahead of time, so that once started to teach them, we could continue without long interruption from the Beginning to the end of Revelation.
