Stacy and Kobe returned from Kobe’s medevac to Australia on Tuesday. He’s doing great! Unfortunately, we weren’t all together for Thanksgiving. Actually, out of the preceding 9 weeks, our family was all together for only 3 COMPLETE DAYS! First, Kiera went on a trip to the Sepik, and before she came back, Aaron had to go to Cairns for 5 weeks for a sinus surgery. Aaron was back in PNG for 2 days before he went to help with Spiritual Emphasis Weekend (SEW), which Kobe also attended. We were back for only 1 day when Kobe was medevaced for appendicitis!
Whew! It’s been quite a ride the last 9 weeks! We are hoping to spend some good family time together over the Christmas holiday.
This Christmas will be especially difficult for one family here in PNG. A tragic incident happened to them here on Thursday afternoon. Our high school boys’ soccer team was playing their last game of the season against dads and other men from around here. One of our local PNG friends collapsed and passed away from a massive heart attack while playing soccer. Bizo was married to an American woman so they were quite involved in the missionary community as well as the surrounding PNG community. He was only 41 and leaves behind his wife Melissa and 4 little boys. He was also a son of our landowner and carried quite a bit of weight in the community. Please be in prayer for this family and for our community here who are all in shock – many of whom witnessed this tragedy.
With all that’s going on with us (and with you), we hope that we will all treasure the family that God has given us this holiday season.
God is good! He does good! Our circumstances do not change His character! He is the same yesterday, today, and forever!
We wish you and your family a Merry Christmas!
From Aaron, Stacy, Kobe, Kiera, and Kaili
Kiera is 13! We now have TWO teenagers in the house!
