We have decided to take a Home Assignment (furlough) starting in a few weeks! With Aaron not getting help in Australia for his sinus issues, and Aaron’s sister not doing well with her cancer, it just seemed to be the right time – even though it’s rather sudden. This year works out best for Kobe’s schooling, too. He’s a sophomore and would like to spend his junior and senior year back in PNG. Years ago, we thought that this year would work out the best with school timing, so it’s something we’ve been thinking about for a long time. We don’t want to leave PNG, though! This is our home, our ministry, and where our family has spent the majority of it’s life! It’s been hard to think of leaving, and many tears.
With coming home rather suddenly, we don’t have things lined up yet – a place to stay, cars to drive, school to go to, etc. Pray for us as we look to the Lord to provide these things. If you know of anything, please let us know!
We will probably settle in Maine again, as that’s the place we’ve called home on our previous furloughs. It will be the easiest to have the kids transition there, as there are friends and family and schools they are familiar with.
Thank you for allowing us to serve God in PNG! We hope to connect with many of you Stateside, and share with you what GOD is doing in PNG! Lord willing, we will be returning to PNG in July 2019!
UPDATE: God dropped a vehicle in our lap! A nice Honda Odyssey for $2,500! See, God’s already working! And, we’re hoping to get tickets booked today. Just need to be able to pay for all this! In a couple weeks we’ll get into Detroit, spend a week or so in Michigan, and head out to Maine.
