On July 14th we officially moved out of our apartment in Massachusetts that we moved into exactly a year ago. When we moved out two weeks ago, Grace said goodbye to her room. Since then she has already slept in six different beds while we’ve been traveling, and by mid-August she will probably have been in at least two more. We’ve definitely been on the move!
Despite the constant change in our environment this past month, our kids are doing pretty well. Grace has definitely been more clingy or emotional at times because of all the loss she is experiencing, and Levi has had some nearly sleepless nights, but we’re trying to make them a part of all of this in the best way we can, and we’re talking it through together.
Why are we traveling so much, you ask? In order for us to leave in September to teach and disciple students from the Ramu Valley of Papua New Guinea, we need partners who will pledge to support us monthly (or quarterly, annually, etc.). Finding people and churches to partner with us in our ministry involves a lot of travel. This is not a short term missions trip. Being missionaries to Papua New Guinea is our new career, but we’re volunteering, so we need a team to send us.
Here’s what’s ahead for sharing at churches:
Aug. 4th: Judson Baptist Church, Prescott, MI
Aug. 11th (morning): Seneca Community Church, Morenci, MI
Aug. 11th (evening): Commissioning- Jenison Bible Church, Hudsonville, MI
When we finish our time here in Michigan around mid-August, we will travel back to Massachusetts, where we will live with Emily’s parents. We will then finish necessary appointments and packing, and as soon as we have enough pledged support, we will submit visa paperwork, buy tickets, and fly to the other side of the world, hopefully in time for the start of the new school year, the last week of September.
Current support level: 50%
