Greetings from Spring in Missouri! After the dead browns of winter, we delight to see the vibrant greening of the grass and bright yellow forsythia, the misting of pink redbud in the woods! Just as the consistent changing of the days and seasons show God’s faithfulness to keep His promise in Gen 8:22: While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease,
God’s faithfulness assures us too of Jesus’ words in Mat. 16:18
“..I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” Jesus, speaking to his disciples as recorded in Matthew 16:18.
The bits of news we’ve heard from afar about the Awa church are not encouraging. Milton, the Awa church leader who had confessed to immorality with his wife’s sister, is not doing well spiritually.. There is fall-out in his marriage as the depth of the breach of trust sinks in, attempts to flee from the consequences leads to more sin and complications. Yet, God is at work, building His church, redeeming the situation. It takes faith to believe it in the middle of the mess! We’re thankful our coworkers Kevin and Kathy Bruce are there again after 8 months in the USA, as they can get a better take on the situation and give input. Pray for them! This coming week we anticipate news when they return to the city and have internet connection.
