We’re thankful for the very pleasant day God gave us. Kevin has been teaching more on the death of Christ…. such amazing love for the individuals Jesus repeatedly demonstrated! In the middle of his own pain, he even asked God to forgive the soldiers who were nailing him to the cross.
Kathy makes the kids classes active and fun. The Awa ladies enjoyed learning from Chrissy a new techniques for using old T-shirts to make horse blankets/rugs. The guys were working with gusto to make some folding benches while the Kevin and Kathy were playing games with the kids. Fun to see them all happy!
Lunch today was a lot of typical Awa food: rice and beans, boiled cooking bananas, salsa, corn on-the-cob, farmers cheese and banana bread..well banana bread is a gringo idea to use bananas which are the staple food for the Awa. Sunday there is chicken on the menu – meat is really appreciated.
Sunday we have a Baby Dedication planned since some parents asked for that, along with celebrating the Lord’s Supper. I hope to get a recording of the open sharing time at the end to hear what’s going on in their minds after the conference – makes for good language learning material too!
