Some of the 200<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Not long ago we had the privilege of being a part of our annual get together.\u00a0 It’s a time when as many of the missionaries on our field that can, comes together for a time of learning, laughing and leisure.<\/p>\n

MKs (missionary kids)- some knew one language, some knew two & some knew three or more! And yet, they all worked together to get along and communicate for the week.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

I’m not gonna lie, some years I did not enjoy it at all.\u00a0 But this year was different.\u00a0 This I year I decided that despite my Portuguese (our field is primarily Brazilians…so everything is in Portuguese.\u00a0 EVERYTHING), I was just going to go to the lessons and do my\u00a0best to understand, I was going to get out of the house during free time and visit with others (and just talk and talk until they understood me! [in Portuguese]) and I was just going to RELAX and not worry what anyone thought.\u00a0 And you know what, I had a great time!\u00a0 I DID learn.\u00a0 I DID laugh.\u00a0 And I DID enjoy my leisure time with others.<\/p>\n

So this year, like many of our co-workers (approx. 200!), I enjoyed it.<\/p>\n

I’m so thankful our field does this.\u00a0 A lot of our co-workers work in areas where they stay for 3 months at a time.\u00a0 Some teams have 2-4 couples, but other teams are just one couple working alone with a people group.\u00a0 This time is such an encouragement for them to get to share with others who are in the same type of ministry.\u00a0 And for those of us who help in support roles, it’s a great time for us to hear how the different works are going.<\/p>\n

Of course soccer was played often!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Needless to say, from here on out, my goal will be to do the same.\u00a0 Learn.\u00a0 Laugh.\u00a0 And enjoy leisure when I can.\u00a0 And that’s my hope for you too.\u00a0 Learn.\u00a0 Laugh.\u00a0 And take time for leisure.<\/p>\n
