Hammocks<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>What is this, you ask?\u00a0 Actually it&#8217;s just a title I made up. \ud83d\ude42\u00a0 But there is meaning behind it.\u00a0 Last weekend Joel &amp; I went on a camping trip with the 6th &amp; 7th graders.\u00a0 You see, every semester the 7th &amp; 8th grade classes, as well as the high school students, get to take a camping trip.\u00a0 It&#8217;s a special time for them to take a break from school, fellowship, work on unity (they do all the planning,\u00a0cooking, cleaning up, etc.) and just have some FUN!\u00a0 This semester the 6th grade class got to go because there is no 8th grade class. \ud83d\ude42\u00a0 And let me tell you, they were pretty excited too!<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_272\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-272\" style=\"width: 320px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-272\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/joel-ketcham\/files\/2011\/02\/DSC004011.JPG\" alt=\"Our Cook &amp; his helper, Josiah (we only ate a little sand with each meal) \ud83d\ude42<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Anyway, &#8220;Camping for Christ&#8221;&#8230;I thought of this because camping during RAINY season, on the river (where there are LOTS of mosquitos!)- just isn&#8217;t my ideal idea of fun.\u00a0 Don&#8217;t get me wrong, I like camping&#8230;American style (with an RV, beds, windows, etc&#8230;.ha!), but this kind of camping is different.\u00a0 However, when I thought of Christ, I knew I could do it&#8230;and have fun too.\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_273\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-273\" style=\"width: 320px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-273\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/joel-ketcham\/files\/2011\/02\/DSC00393.JPG\" alt=\"Joel &amp; Josiah (since he is a &quot;pre-schooler,&quot; he was allowed to go with us...Ethan &amp; Summer stayed w\/ Joel's parents) working on our tent...yes, I requested a tent to sleep in!\" width=\"320\" height=\"240\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/angela-ketcham\/files\/2011\/02\/DSC00393.JPG 320w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/angela-ketcham\/files\/2011\/02\/DSC00393-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 320px) 100vw, 320px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-273\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Joel &amp; Josiah (since he is a &quot;pre-schooler,&quot; he was allowed to go with us...Ethan &amp; Summer stayed w\/ Joel&#39;s parents) working on our tent...yes, I requested a tent to sleep in!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>You see, by teaching these kids, giving them fun things to do (like camping), being friends\/mentors\/fill-in parents for them&#8230;we are allowing their parents to not worry while they are working in a tribe translating the Word of God into an unwritten language.\u00a0 That&#8217;s right&#8230;the tribes NTM goes to, doesn&#8217;t have written languages.\u00a0 The missionaries there learn the language, create a written alphebet, teach the tribal people how to read their own language, AND THEN translate the Bible.\u00a0 It&#8217;s hard work!!!\u00a0 And sometimes it&#8217;s not safe for children to live in the tribes&#8230;the culture is too different &amp; the parents can&#8217;t do the work for needing to watch, care for &amp; educate their children.<\/p>\n<p>So that&#8217;s where we come in&#8230;&#8221;Camping for Christ.&#8221;\u00a0 And that is where YOU come in too.\u00a0 You are our support &amp;
