Just thought we would give you a quick update on our adoption process.\u00a0 This weekend we visited the first three orphanages (out of 6).\u00a0 It went well.\u00a0 We were able to see how they are run & ask some questions.\u00a0 The biggest help was at the last one we visited.\u00a0 It’s ran by some friends of ours.\u00a0 So we got to talk to them & ask questions that we couldn’t ask at the other ones.\u00a0 Now we have a better understanding of how things are working.\u00a0 We also got to hear some of the childrens’ stories…which were very sad!\u00a0 Anyway, we still have three more to go.\u00a0 Hopefully we’ll visit those this week or next.\u00a0 This is a mandatory part of the process…so we have to go sometime.<\/p>\n

We also found out where we are on ‘the list’.\u00a0 #41.\u00a0 A number didn’t mean a whole lot to me so I asked what they thought the waiting time would be before we get referrals…a year, maybe more.\u00a0 So now we at least have an idea.\u00a0 Not that that couldn’t change…but at least that gives us some kind of idea.<\/p>\n

Okay, just wanted you to know where we are at & what’s going on these days.\u00a0<\/p>\n

P.S.\u00a0 I would have loved to take some pics of the children in the orphanages, but it would not have been appropriate.\u00a0 So instead I will share a pic of some manatees we saw on the school field trip (Friday morn before we visited the first orphanage).<\/p>\n
