We are so thankful to report that we are in Papua New Guinea and nearing the end of our 14 day quarantine. In four days we will be able to actually leave our house and start exploring our new home. A week from Monday we will begin our orientation with the seven other families in our class of new missionaries. This will begin the 6 month process of learning the trade language, Tok Pisin, as well as beginning to understand what life is like for the people of PNG.
Our quarantine has been far from uneventful unfortunately as we both got sick this past week with a stomach virus. Kara Linn’s was way worse, lasting 3 days and making life miserable for her. Thankfully after some magic chicken soup that a coworker brought to us, she woke this morning on the mend. Thank you for those that prayed for her. She still needs rest after being so sick so please pray we would all be well rested as we finish up our quarantine bug free!
Lastly, thank you all for praying for our trip across the world! It’s hard to say that traveling 60 hours via 4 planes with a 2 year old can go well, but it went about as well as could be hoped for! Hosanna did great, we didn’t lose any luggage, and there were no hang-ups with airport security. We are thankful to all our coworkers who helped us before and after arrival. We are thankful to you guys for supporting us and praying for us on this journey. We are thankful to God for his faithfulness to us no matter the circumstances. Let us know how we can be praying for you all as we have quite a bit of quarantine time on our hands!
Grace and Peace,
Anthony and Kara Linn Haskins
