{"id":13,"date":"2009-06-18T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2009-06-18T04:00:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2009-06-18T20:45:04","modified_gmt":"2009-06-19T00:45:04","slug":"gospel-presented-in-mengen","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/barb-kuecken\/2009\/06\/18\/gospel-presented-in-mengen\/","title":{"rendered":"Gospel Presented in Mengen"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Several months ago a request for prayer was sent out along with <!--StartImportThumbnail--><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/barb-kuecken\/files\/2009\/06\/1076_44609.jpg\" rel=\"thumbnail\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-104\" style=\"float:left; margin-right:5px; border: 0.5pt solid #BCC4C8;\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/barb-kuecken\/files\/2009\/06\/1076_44609.jpg\" alt=\"Prayer request from the Mengen team\" width=\"150\" title=\"Prayer request from the Mengen team\" \/><\/a><!--EndImportThumbnail--> pictures of the Mengen translation helpers.&nbsp; The teaching began in February and now, all 70 lessons have been completed.&nbsp; Missionary Dave Wright taught twice each day, and his enthusiasm for the gospel brought in the numbers to the village teaching, time and again.&nbsp; Now we may rejoice to call another thirty or forty Mengen men and women, brothers and sisters in Christ.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>During the teaching, Dave used an expression which means &quot;It is finished&quot;, time and again.&nbsp; In the Mengen culture a debt is signified by a rope with knots, and when the debt is paid, they use this same expression.&nbsp; Our sin debt has been paid, by Christ on the Cross.&nbsp; One young man, with great excitement, has been telling everyone that he had a great debt which he could never pay, but it has been paid by Christ.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Praise the Lord for the excitement that the Gospel has raised among the Mengen people.<\/p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Many have been praying as the teaching in Mengen began.
