I am presently in Roseburg, Oregon.
Thank you for your prayers as I have been traveling across country to get here. First arriving in July to attend a nephew’s wedding; Then off to Denver to attend a conference on teaching languages using stories (TPRS); Back down to Chihuahua to renew my FM3 permission to be in Mexico; After all that, dashed back to Roseburg. It was a hard three days as I was trying to get back for my 40th highschool reunion.
I decided to take a "bee-line" from El Paso to Roseburg via Winnemucca, Nevada. I traveled through New Mexico to Utah. Then onto Nevada and up to Lakeview, Oregon and across the Cascades via Diamond Lake. I think this was a mistake but a beautiful trip.
Roseburg is nestled in the Cascade mountains. Though it is on Interstate 5, it is still difficult to enter. Its crossroads are narrow and treacherous as you meander between rocky hillsides and river shores. What lookes like a short cut on a map is a winding 40 m.p.h. trip through the mountains. But with people’s prayers, I made it.
I think I will stick with going through the desert of Arizona and California and catch the Interstate 5. Atleast I could put the car on cruise control and enjoy the hours of riding, despite the doldrum of the desert.
