Thank you for your prayers as I travel around the US and Canada.
I had a lovely stay with friends in Vancouver and Abbotsford, BC, Canada. We visited a swinging bridge in Vancouver and went bird watching in Abbotsford. Vancouver is getting ready for the Winter Olympics in a year or so. The developement of the new mass transit made it hard to get around. But it will be lovely when finished. Abbotsford had cloudy days but when sunny you can see Mt Baker. What a beautiful provence.
Next, I traveled to White Salmon, Wa. Here I stayed at a lovely house my friends built that has a view of Mt. Hood on one side and Mt. Adams on the other. I never realized how many people live on Washington side of the Columbia River. I have traveled on the freeway on the Oregon side most of my life. I would look over and see treesand cliff with a few homespeeking out among the trees. I had no idea the vast amount of land above those steep cliffs. Under the trees are small quaint villages with homes having the views of the mountains in almost every direction. It was wonderful.
Then I moved across grassy plainsof Washington to connect up with I-90 and stayed in Spokane. Then I drove through the Rokies in the Pan handle of Idaho. I had not idea that this was the round Lewis took traveling up the Yellowstone River. It was fun to think of what they may have seen on these travels. I followed the Yellowstone River most of the way through Montana and stayed in Billings. The area is mostly grassland with cliffs here and there.
I connected to I-94 and then took some country roads to connect with I-2 in North Dakota. The land is flat and the roads are quick as there is little traffic in these areas. It was a great short cut that cut off hours of travel time.
I am visiting a former teacher from Chihuahua who lives in Kenmare, ND. {{25132}}I am enchanted with small ponds of water captured between rolling land of grains. One pond even had a beaver home in the middle. Those beavers must have come across a lot of land to get to this small pond. There was a small grove of trees for him to make his next.
Well, I will continue on my trip and add more comments of the beauty of our world as I am able.
I will add pictures once I can use my own computer. Great sites. Thank you for your prayers.
