It has been good to sit and listen to what has been going on up river in Taina. Orlando, Mariela and two of their children have come to town for a few days and we have gotten in a few good conversations already. “We have already been taught. We have been discipled in how to do everything Christ has commanded. We are able to handle Gustavo’s still sinful lifestyle in Jesus’ power. We have Christ’s mind. We have our powerful God backing us.” This is what Orlando urged the small band of Christ followers there in Taina to be. “We need to transfer our dependence from Barry and Denise to Jesus!! The Word being taught isn’t Barry’s word like you are used to saying. It is God’s Words. Let’s transfer our faith to that! We need to stop waiting for them to deal with sinful issues in our lives! We need to stop hesitating to evangelize other villages because they are not here to head it up. It is our turn to step up and do what Jesus commands!” he pleaded with them. In the last year Orlando has really begun to blossom into a promising leader.  He went on to share how the group responded positively and they are willing to make the transfer to dependence on Jesus. Praise the Lord for this progress. Orlando also asks for regular and specific prayer for this process of transfer to be happening in their lives. Thanks!
