In my time as a church planting consultant last week, we dedicated six full days to study the world view write up of the Sateré people as a way to pinpoint the spots where Sateré beliefs will conflict with God’s world view that He wants to be untainted by human worldview thinking. We also took time to apply to the evangelistic Bible story set how the Sateré people are strongly driven by Fear – Power as they practice magic. And how they are
also strongly motivated by Shame – Honor and how that too shapes how they regularly respond to life, and how they will respond to the life changing message of Jesus. We took the time to write up what God tells us happened throughout His story with strategic vocabulary that a Shame-Honor person and Fear-Power person would quickly identify with, which make the message clearer to them.
