After 4 1/2 years of training with New Tribes and almost 1 1/2 years of Partnership Development, we’re itchin’ to leave for Papua New Guinea!
So, how is this going to happen? If you’ve been reading our newsletters or checking our homepage, you know that our support level is at 59%. We are praising the Lord for how He continues to provide! But we still have a ways to go before we would be able to leave.
Recently, the missions committee, deacons and pastor of our home church gave us the go ahead to proceed with plans to leave for the field the first week of September – providing certain criteria are met. We thought you might be interested in reading what they are.
Steps to a September Departure:
1. Send our things to the shipping company by the end of May
– we are shipping a container of items we are purchasing here in the US that we will need in PNG
2. Have our visas for PNG at least by July
– we are currently working on all the paperwork needed to enter the country and stay there long-term
3. Buy tickets for our flight to PNG by August
– buying tickets would be contingent upon having a support level of 85% at the beginning of August
4. The Allens leave for Papua New Guinea the 1st week of September
– providing we have at least 90% of our monthly support and the remaining 10% is promised
How you can help:
1. Pray for each of these items with us, even consider fasting, that we might seek the pleasure of the Lord in these things. I am convinced we may see miracles take place.
2. You as a family or a Sunday School class or church may participate in getting us to the field. We are currently purchasing many important items to be sent to the field in our container. If you believe it would be a positive experience for your family or class to help us in purchasing some of those items, then please contact us soon.
3. If the Lord has been speaking to you about becoming a part of our support team through financial giving, now is a great time to start. As we look to the Lord to supply our needs we rely on churches and individuals like you, directed by the Holy Spirit, passionate to see another tribe reached by the gospel. No gift is too small! Many consider that what they have to give is an embarrassment. If everyone says this our support takes a long time to grow. Many families could afford to give a small monthly gift of anywhere from $5 – $30, while some are able to give more. Please consider committing to give monthly toward our ministry.
We are asking the Lord to provide a jump in our support level to 75% before the end of April.
Reaching those who have never heard,
Bart and Emily Allen
