To the Tribe and Back Again

October 28, 2010 by Bart and Emily Allen

Our Family - October 2010

Last week our family returned from a 9-day visit into the newest tribal work in the Madang region.  (For more background information on the trip, please read our previous blog post – The Timeline and A Baby.)

Thank you very much for praying for us!  Our main prayer request as we made this trip was that the Lord would show us clearly if we should pursue working in this tribe or not!

During our time we met many of the tribal people, hiked the mountainous trails, talked with the other missionary family, experienced the range of weather and just got a general feel for what it would be like to live and minister in that place.  And at the end of our trip, we did not see any serious obstacles to us continuing to investigate serving in this tribe.  There are still many questions to be answered – both for us as well as the missionary team that is already working there.  Many decisions need to be made.  And we all need much wisdom from the Lord as we seek to know what path He would have us take.   Will you please continue to pray for us?  We are eager to get to work but we desire to be where the Lord wants us and for now that means continuing to wait and pray. Oh, and going back to the U.S. to have a baby!  🙂
