Brand New in Amdu

June 2, 2013 by Bart and Emily Allen

As we got off the plane and were surrounded by a sea of new faces, Caleb wasn’t quite sure what to make of it all. Since he wasn’t born yet when we made trips into other tribal works, this was his first experience of being in a tribe. But very quickly he has adjusted to this new life. He is at the stage where his vocabulary in English is expanding just about every day. He is a very good mimic! So as we learn Amdu words and he hears them, he mimics those as well. In our home right now there is a mix of 3 languages being spoken – English, Pidgin and, increasingly, Amdu!

Just a few days ago we officially started CLA (culture/language acquisition). Please pray for our ears to hear clearly, our minds to be able to absorb the load of information we are getting each day and our mouths to be able to clearly and accurately reproduce the Amdu language! Please also pray for strength and energy as we put in long days of language study.
