Old Friends with New Life

April 17, 2014 by Bart and Emily Allen

As we were leaving PNG for our trip back to America for furlough (now officially called Home Assignment), we were able to stop by the New Tribes center on the coast where we spent our first several years.  We have lots of great memories of being new missionaries and “learning the ropes” there.  We became good friends with the citizen workers on our center as well as with people in the surrounding villages.

In this past year many of those workers and friends have gone through the Creation to Christ Bible teaching, have put their faith and trust in Christ alone, and are now part of the family of God!  We can’t put enough exclamation points to communicate our joy!

Being able to reconnect with many of them, see the change in their lives and hear the joy in their voices was a huge blessing to us.  We are so thankful for the team of New Tribes missionaries currently on the center who continue to teach and disciple these new believers.  Praise the Lord with us for God’s Word that continues to change lives!

We’re not going to include names or descriptions, but the following photos are of some of our friends who we were able to see during our time there.  Please continue to pray for some of the workers and family members who are not yet saved.
