…of our Home Assignment travels, that is!!
Since June, we have been on the road just about every weekend visiting different supporting churches, family and friends. We’ve put a lot of miles on our van. We’ve gone through all the Adventures in Odyssey disc sets that our public library has to offer. We’ve stayed in homes, hotels, lodges, and occasionally we even get to come back to our own rented house for a little breather before heading off on the next trip!!
This coming week we leave on one last ministry trip to update our final supporting church! While we have very much enjoyed seeing those who are a part of our support team, we are somewhat weary of all the time on the road and the crazy schedule that it entails. If you ask our boys, some of them could probably quote the message and video that they have heard just about every Sunday!! So many along the way have been a huge blessing and encouragement to us. We pray often that the Lord would use what we have shared to challenge and encourage others. We also pray that the Lord would raise up more believers who are willing to GO! In PNG alone, there are still MANY unreached tribes who are isolated from the Gospel message.
Once we return from this trip, we are looking forward to spending some weeks in our home/sending church and with our family over the holidays. We also have much buying and packing to do as our departure for PNG gets closer. We are looking at tickets right now and hope to purchase them soon.
Please continue to pray for us. Saying goodbye doesn’t get easier! While we are excited to get back to learning language and culture in the Amdu tribe, we also know now more of what we are getting into. The glamor is gone and in its place is the reality that the next few years are going to be a LOT of hard work, sweat and tears. But we look ahead with anticipation for what the Lord is going to do in the hearts of our Amdu friends. It will be worth it!!
Thank you for partnering with us!
