Remember that Kodiak we wrote about in our last post<\/a>? It made its first trip into Amdu!\u00a0 And that trip involved a little history-making as Amdu received the distinction of being the first grass airstrip in PNG on which the new Kodiak landed.<\/p>\n

Approaching planes always create a bit of a stir in the village.\u00a0 Everyone wants to know who or what the plane is carrying.\u00a0 We had told our Amdu friends that a new plane was coming so excitement on this day was even higher.\u00a0 As usual, once the plane landed and the pilots shut off the engines, everyone crowded around to see the shiny, new plane.\u00a0 It was an exciting day!<\/p>\n

Please pray for our pilots as they learn the ins and outs of flying a new plane. \u00a0It\u2019s quite a bit different than the little Cessna 206 that NTM has been using here in PNG for about 20 years.<\/p>\n

Micah (our youngest son) is especially excited to get to fly on the Kodiak.\u00a0 Every time a plane lands, he asks if he can get on it. \u00a0Lord willing, we won\u2019t have to leave the tribe until our annual conference in a few months, but it will be a fun day when we get to take our first flight on the new plane.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
