Twenty four hours after Benjamin’s miraculous arrival home we began making plans to leave again – Tiernan’s tummy symptoms have returned and we decided that we needed to “bite the bullet” and charter a flight to go and see the doctor. There are few places in this country that you can visit without flying! We arrived early afternoon on the 15th and an hour later Tiernan was in the doctor’s office. After a thorough exam we were happy to hear that Tiernan was in no immediate danger, but the doctor was puzzled as to the source of all the gas that seems trapped in Tiernan’s’s intestines. He decided to put a report together of his findings and send it off to several pediatricians in the States for their input.
After sleeping on it and seeing Tiernan again today the doctor has decided to prescribe an antibiotic and see what happens. He has heard nothing from other doctors that has made things any clearer. Having gone full circle in pursuit of the right diagnosis we’re back to waiting and seeing! Can you pray with us that Tiernan responds really well to the antibiotics and that we’ll be given the clear to head home on Monday! We’re so grateful for an excellent missionary medical team here in PNG that we can lean on in times of need. While it is impractical and expensive, it is worth the investment to have the peace of mind and confidence to continue on in the direction the Lord is leading us. We will keep you informed!
Thank you for praying with us. It is so good to hear from so many of you who are assuring us of your prayer support and have taken the time to share your concern with us. Thank you for sacrificing financially for us to be here and giving so faithfully to what the Lord is doing in our lives here in Papua New Guinea.
Gratefully,
