Do you remember the first time you saw the sea?
We are here in town again and this time we have brought two of our Amdu friends with us. This is their first time seeing the sea!
Our teammates, Bart and Emily Allen, and us are standing on the edge of a completely different ocean and it’s our first time too. We are attending a Team Translation Workshop getting our orientation on all aspects of producing a clear, accurate and natural translation of God’s Word in the Amdu language.
Before we can start telling God’s story we have to translate key passages of Scripture so that each lesson is clearly seen as being grounded on the authority of the inspired Word of God; passages first then entire books of the Bible will follow. This workshop is giving us our first really detailed look at the essential principles we must follow.
Please pray for us and our two language helpers as we try and absorb lots of new information; over 36 hours of instruction for both us and our Amdu friends. Pray that we will retain the knowledge well. We won’t be implementing this training immediately. We have to finish our language learning first. Check out our latest video below to learn more about our timeline in Amdu!
Thank you so much for your investment in our lives through prayer and giving. It is a joy to be disciple makers in Amdu.
