Push Back #2

March 26, 2020 by Benjamin and Missy

We want to alert all of you who are praying for us and the Amdu people that more developments have affected the start of our foundational Bible teaching. We intended to gather on Tuesday and begin our teaching program but this morning we were alerted to the fact that a ban has been put on gatherings of more than 100 people country wide here in PNG. We’re a village of about 300 currently and don’t have a good plan in place for how to proceed with our teaching program considering these constraints. The ban is set to last for one week. So we have pushed our teaching back until Monday the 30th. Between now and then we will come up with a plan on how to proceed. We used the time this afternoon at our last village meeting for a while to explain again how disease is transmitted and what to do if they get sick with COVID-19 symptoms. Pray that it doesn’t come to that here. There is very little we’ll be able to do for those at high risk who might get ill.

We’re looking to the Lord for wisdom and creativity as we seek to testify of Christ’s matchless importance in this life and at the same time maintain a good citizen testimony by abiding by the law of the land. Thanks for adding all of that to your list of prayers for Amdu! Many of you have taken the time to write and express that your thoughts are with us. This has been a huge encouragement to us. Thank you for taking the time to do that for us!
