“We really love all that you have been teaching us! It is very clear. I understand it!”
“I’m believing what you have taught us.”
“I have sin, and Jesus died for me.”
“There is nothing we can do on our own to be acceptable to God!”
“Our eyes have been covered. Now we are at a place of decision!”
“Jesus removed all our sins, even the sins in our future!”
These are a few of the reactions from this mornings lesson and the time we spent together after the lesson pondering the meaning of Jesus work on the cross. As you can see there are reasons to be very happy and there are many conversations that still need to happen so that we can help people come to the clearest understanding possible. We’re confident in the salvation of a handful from our group and can’t wait to get private time with each one to find out just where their hearts are at. Thank you so much from praying for us. It was evident that God was at work giving Benjamin the words to say as the lesson ended and we went into the impromptu time of question asking and rehashing the main points again.
What we are most thankful for this morning is that there is no question a foundation has been laid for the ongoing proclamation of the Gospel of God’s grace here in Amdu. There is a small group of excited believers. We have the birth of the Amdu church. We’re so thankful God has enabled us and will continue filling and enabling us as we continue making disciples here. The next days are going to be focused on catching time with our friends, listening to their hearts, probing through their questions and directing them to the cross.
We’re meeting again this afternoon in a more casual setting outside in the yard of our co-workers house. Bart is going to share why he is confident that he is God’s child. And then we are going to let the group speak. It is pure joy to be able to have these conversations and to know that as God gives us opportunity we get to be here to see these believer’s grow and watch God add to their ranks.
Many, many thanks from Amdu!
Benjamin and Missy
