{"id":524,"date":"2010-10-26T00:07:07","date_gmt":"2010-10-26T04:07:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/benjamin-hatton\/2010\/10\/26\/finally-here\/"},"modified":"2012-01-03T06:39:54","modified_gmt":"2012-01-03T10:39:54","slug":"finally-here","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/benjamin-hatton\/2010\/10\/26\/finally-here\/","title":{"rendered":"Finally Here"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/benjamin-hatton\/files\/2010\/10\/DSC_0074.JPG\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-521\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/benjamin-hatton\/files\/2010\/10\/DSC_0074-300x199.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_0074\" width=\"300\" height=\"199\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/benjamin-hatton\/files\/2010\/10\/DSC_0074-300x199.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/benjamin-hatton\/files\/2010\/10\/DSC_0074-768x510.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/benjamin-hatton\/files\/2010\/10\/DSC_0074-600x399.jpg 600w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/benjamin-hatton\/files\/2010\/10\/DSC_0074-166x110.jpg 166w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/benjamin-hatton\/files\/2010\/10\/DSC_0074-250x166.jpg 250w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>After 20 days in transit we are finally at our destination!\u00a0 A roller coaster of emotions describes best what we are feeling now that we are here.\u00a0 Sometimes excited and confident, other times sad and apprehensive.\u00a0 Overwhelmed with all that is new, but relieved that we are done traveling.\u00a0 There are moments that everything seems quite normal, and others when we feel like having a good cry.\u00a0 So much has transpired in the past few weeks that it is hard to know which of these feelings is appropriate.\u00a0 All of them, is probably the right answer.\u00a0 <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>We know that as time passes and we grow more familiar with our surroundings our emotions will settle and we&#8217;ll feel less sensitive, but for now we are having those cries, when we have to, and enjoying things like SKYPE with our family members, emails from home and just treasuring each other.<\/p>\n<p>The next few days will be filled with unpacking our bags, and finding a routine.\u00a0 We&#8217;ll also be doing some basic orientation in town but nothing too involved just yet.\u00a0 We have some terrific co-workers here at the NTM center.\u00a0 We were warmly greeted by familes that already new our names and had been anticipating our arrival.\u00a0 A few of the men met us at the airport and were a great help getting our luggage loaded and delivered to our new home.\u00a0 Next door to us is a family with six children all in and around our kids ages.\u00a0 So Judah, Gianna, Tiernan and Silas have lots of friends to play with already.<\/p>\n<p>The adjustment that may be the hardest to make is the adjustment to the heat.\u00a0 It is very hot and humid here and we are all (veteran missionaries and rookies alike) sweating continually.\u00a0 This is life in the Sepik we&#8217;re told, so we are so thankful for the ceiling fans in every room and ice-water that we are drinking by the gallon.\u00a0 Our living arrangements are very comfortable.\u00a0 We have a three bedroom apartment with all the conveniences that we need.\u00a0 Our children are adjusting very well;
