Bill has returned from his roofing job and thankfully Layne had a camera!
Here’s a little glimpse of what they did…
Bill and Layne flew in a little 206 plane to this location!
Beautiful isn’t it?
The “captain” of the boat is from this first village. He is one of the teachers in the church there! They loaded up in this boat and headed upriver three hours to the village where they needed to repair the roof.
Bill got started right away! They had it half done the first day. The green heavy canvas tarp is what they were putting on. The black section was the older roof that was leaking. The roof only needs to last this year. The missionaries are hoping to finish up Old Testament Scriptures this year before they move into another village and start another translation. Pray that the Lord will keep this roof strong and the missionaries encouraged so His Word will be placed in the peoples hands this year!!!
There was a slight problem with the roof and the solar panels. Bill and Layne knew of a better way so they moved them!
Bill looking things over!
They moved them over to the better roof and now the missionaries don’t have to worry about them falling through their ceiling.
Bill loves doing this. Bill has always loved carpentry and remodeling but with his own business he kept saying, “this just isn’t it!” Since we have joined New Tribes and he is able to do what he loves and even better going into these locations he can finally say, “this is it!”
Bill had a great time hanging out with the missionaries and loved the opportunity to help out with the roof. He was even able to sit in on a church service there. That is always a great time to hear these dear PNG people give testimony of their faith in God!
Heading back home! What a great week. We are so thankful for the privilege to serve here and the opportunities that the Lord allows us to be a apart of! We are blessed!
