Of the world’s 6,500 people groups, 2,100 are still unreached. New Tribes Mission helps local churches train, coordinate and send missionaries to these tribes.
Most of you know that we had a big field fair a couple weeks ago. It was really great to see all of the different fields represented. When BJ and I first decided to train with New Tribes, the only field we really knew about was Papua New Guinea. The field fair was very educational, because we got to hear from Colombia, Brazil, Mexico, Paraguay, Philippines, Africa, Papua New Guinea, Southeast Asia and a few more. After hearing all the different speakers and the field’s needs, BJ and I would look at each other and say, “We could go there!” We pretty much decided that we could go and serve anywhere, because there are so many needs. We have been encouraged by our staff friends to pick a field and start heading in that direction. So, with much thought and prayer…
We are going to have to get used to these Twisties snacks, because we are going to PNG (Papua New Guinea)-“Island of the Fuzzy Hairs!!” You are probably not surprised, but it feels so good to say it is official! Of course, we are always sensitive to the Lord changing our plans! We have always been so excited about PNG and we feel like the Lord has constantly placed people in our paths that served in PNG…so, nothing changed at field fair! We got to meet with several of the leaders that are serving in PNG now and really hit it off with them! We are super excited to tell all of you where we plan on going! Please be praying for us! And please, get excited too!!!
