You won’t believe what I had the opportunity to do last Sunday–I got to preach at the morning service at Southgate Baptist Church in Moore, OK! The May 20th tornado came right through Southgate’s back yard last spring and did a lot of damage, but God has given them some really cool ways to serve the community. They invited me to come share our story and our future ministry in Papua New Guinea and also to preach the Word! Wow! What a cool (and nerve-racking) opportunity.
I shared a verse that we have adopted as our team verse–2 Timothy 4:5, which says, “But you should keep a clear mind in every situation. Don’t be afraid of suffering for the Lord. Work at telling others the Good News, and fully carry out the ministry God has given you.” Jill and I are really passionate about these 4 things! This is practical advice for all of us, for sure. And for us, we know that Satan would love for us NOT to fully carry out this ministry of tribal church planting in PNG, but we are in this to get the job done and to do it well! Pray that the Lord is gracious to us and allows us to fully carry out the ministry He has given us!
