Happy new year!

January 1, 2016 by BJ and Jill Sanders

AUTHOR: JILL

This is mine and BJ’s 10th New Year to celebrate together! 2015 has been one of the most exciting, hardest, scary, thrilling, faith-building, uncomfortable, and special year so far! And yet, we see the Lord’s faithfulness at every single step.

Here is the year at a glimpse:

-BJ was gone a ton so that he could mill lumber and build our bush home, leaving me to take care of our 1, 3 & 4 year old (hard times).

-BJ’s parents came to visit us (refreshing times).

-A group of men from Northwest Community church came to PNG to help finish building our house (a thankful time).

–Because of our awesome supporters and churches, our house and allocation costs were paid for (amazing time).

-April, we got on a helicopter with our team to make the move into the tribe (scary time).

-May, we started learning the Wantakia language (uncomfortable time).

-September, our first break out of the tribe and field conference (exciting times).

-Jill started homeschooling Olivia (nervous times).

-November, Jill’s parents came to visit (refreshing times).

-December, first Christmas in our first home, but away from family (joyful times and sad times).

There were definitely things we missed this year, like, seeing nieces and nephews born, college graduation, birthdays, etc. But when we think about the future church in Wantakia, it is all worth it!

My theme verse for 2015 is, “My cup overflows with blessings” (Psalm 23:5). Thank YOU for being a part of it–praying, supporting, sending carepackages, encouraging us–MY cup…overflows!

Happy New Year‘s!

Jill
