“So what are you guys doing as you wait for the Crabtrees?” \u00a0Our 3rd family on our team, Jack and Lael Crabtree, got to the country in August and are dominating learning the language (so glad to have brainys on the team!) \u00a0They will finish up by the New Year and we will Lord willing start building our houses!<\/p>\n

But what are we (and the Hambrices) doing? \u00a0Serving! \u00a0Every year, this region holds a conference for all of the bush missionaries to come out and relax and be encouraged. \u00a0There is a team from Michigan coming to do the preaching and VBS for the kids (Olivia is so excited!!) \u00a0So I am in charge of the food for the week!! \u00a0YIKES! \u00a0But I have lots of help thankfully! \u00a0I have spent many hours in meetings, planning food, planning ingredients, and preparing the food. \u00a0Next week is the conference and I think people will be eating very well…and gaining weight (no kumu or kaukau!!)<\/p>\n

BJ\u00a0has also been very busy. \u00a0The last 2 weeks he has been building. \u00a0Last week he helped the “papa grounds” (land owner) finish building his house. \u00a0Then they started building a gazebo right outside of our house! \u00a0They just finished today! \u00a0This gazebo will serve many people that come through throughout the years! \u00a0He is really excited for the experience and all of the new things that he learned from the missionaries here that know how to build!<\/p>\n

This has been a great time getting to learn from the missionaries here and to serve along side with them! \u00a0We’re so thankful for this time of waiting!<\/p>\n
