Do you Skype?

October 6, 2006 by Brian and Bailey Pruett

Got Skype? This weekend I had a conference call with my friend in Alaska and a friend here in Missouri. That was shortly after speaking with my friends in the Middle East, sending a picture to a buddy in Australia and having a video call with an old roommate. All of this was completely free, and extremely easy!

We are using a program called Skype. It is completely free to use and only requires a high speed internet connection, speakers, and a microphone. If you want to have a video call a webcam with an internal microphone is an excellent idea and costs between $30-40. We are attempting to take advantage of technology as much as possible, and have found that Skype offers excellent FREE service all around the world. If you would like to stay in touch with us as we travel, Skype is a great alternative.

Simply go to their website, download and install their small program. Add us to your contact list, Brian.Pruett and/or BBPruett and click either the green “call” button or the “chat” button and you’ll be instantly connected to us for free! As I write this I am able to conference call with my friends on the mission field in Kenya, the Middle East, Philippines, Papua New Guinea, Switzerland, Australia, Venezuela, Alaska and several US locations. That is six continents for free! We would love to stay closely connected with our friends and Skype is proving to be an excellent way to stay in touch.
