Early this morning we received an email from New Tribes Mission Aviation praising the Lord for yet another Kodiak! This brings us up to ten total that have been paid for. They said, “God is up to some big plans! Pray, however, that we will never be tempted to trust in airplanes (“Some trust in chariots, and some in horses…”) but in God’s power (“but we will remember the name of the LORD our God.” Psa. 20:7)
No doubt the Kodiak is an amazing airplane! It can hold 3.5 times the weight of the current aircraft we use, climb two to three times as fast, take off and land in shorter distances, cruise 57 miles per hour faster, and it has the latest technologies as you can see from its instrument panel which uses three LCD screens as the primary instruments for both flight and engine monitoring.
With such a “cool” airplane that promises so much, we have a tendency to place a lot of trust in an airplane. We are so grateful for New Tribes Mission Aviation’s attitude, and humility as they recognize that our trust is in the reputation and character of God, not in an airplane…no matter how amazing it is!
New Tribes spoke for us when they said, “Would you ask God to make each of us the person we need to be to accomplish His work in NTM and NTMA.” That is the attitude we hope to always have. In everything, we want to be developing into the people God would have us be!
