Many of you have been wondering about our baby-on-the-way and how my pregnancy is going. I’m sorry it has taken so long to let you know! I guess I’ll start from the beginning…
In the middle of August Brian and I learned that we were going to become parents! I can’t even begin to tell you the emotions we both went through, and still go through when we think about the fact. Brian and Bailey…parents? Yikes! Even though this is something we have been wanting and expecting for a while now, the news still came as a shock. I don’t if anyone can ever be fully prepared for that kind of news no matter how long they’ve been planning it. We were ecstatic, excited, anxious, nervous, terrified…all at the same time and were thankful knowing we had 9 months to get used to the idea.
Well, it’s been 4 1/2 of those months and now 9 months seems like way too long to wait! We are so excited to meet our little baby and watch our family grow.
From the very beginning, in August, I have felt GREAT! I haven’t had any morning sickness, headaches, dizziness, food cravings…You would hardly know I was even pregnant except for the daily naps I needed the first 3 months. I am now at 20 weeks and continue to feel great with almost all my energy back. I even have a little belly, as you can see, which just adds to the fun! I no longer just feel fat and pudgy, but like there really is a baby growing inside me!
My doctor’s appointments have been going well and so far everything looks great! On Monday, the 26th, we had an ultrasound to check the baby’s vitals and to possibly find out the gender of the baby. Unfortunately, the baby was being shy and wouldn’t let us see!
We are really anxious to know what it is, so we’re hoping that the baby isn’t always that shy and that the Lord isn’t teaching us a lesson in patience…which we need by the way!
My due date remains the same – April 16th – which I hope comes really fast! I can’t wait for all of you, our family and friends, to meet NTM’s newest missionary.
Thank you all so much for your gifts, thoughts, and prayers. Please continue to pray for a healthy and easy pregnancy!
