On a fairly routine flight into the Tala-Andig tribe I noticed that there were an abnormal number of tribal people standing around the plane. It is routine that by the time I land and shut the airplane down there will be 20-30 tribal people all standing around watching and discussing my every move. On this flight it struck me that there were probably 40-50 people there and many of them I didn’t recognize. Where did they come from?
I had just flown the missionary into the tribe and we dodged a lot of bad weather to get there. We were delivering new teaching materials to the tribal church leaders there. An outreach was taking place into a new village and it was being carried out by the Tala-Andig church while the missionaries were in town. They received word that they had run out of lessons for the children and that the “Phase One” teaching (Creation to Christ chronologically) was finished and that there was a small group of new believers as a result! These “extra” tribal folks that were at the airplane were brand new believers from a neighboring tribe that had all been led to the Lord by fellow Tala-Andig believers.
It is so neat to see God working and using us as a small part to facilitate these outreaches into some of the most rugged and remote terrain in the Philippines. Thanks for your prayers and support as we strive to work at this task of seeing the last tribe reached with the Gospel.
