Oh happy day! The helicopter is not only here in the Philippines, but now it is HERE – tucked away in the corner of a friend’s hangar as it waits for Josh and Brian to finish assembling it.
It’s been a long week of waiting. We arrived in the city last Sunday to make sure that we would be in place and ready for the helicopter. When it was finally released today, we were more than ready! Because of regular, scheduled power outages disabling the internet servers here, it didn’t make it out of customs quite as quickly as we had hoped- however, this is the fastest this process has ever gone for us and we are praising the Lord for that!
The helicopter arrived at the hangar this morning around 10 am and, after 2 hours of wiggling it out of its tight spot in the container, it is on the ground and parked on it’s own skids ready for reassembly. It took two pilots, a forklift driver and his team, a broker, several mechanics, and a team of onlookers to get it to the ground and we are so thankful for all the help we received today – not to mention the team back in the U.S. who actually crated and loaded it all up 2 months ago.
Thank you all for praying-I can’t tell you how much we appreciate it. Please continue to pray for Brian and Josh as they put it all back together. It’s HOT here and the power and water is scheduled to go out everyday for several hours. Please pray for stamina for them, for clearness of mind as they put it all back together, and for safety. Please also pray that the rest of the government paperwork will go smoothly and we can be up and running soon.
