| Being a part of global church planting all these years has come with some pretty significant celebrations. We’ve moved missionaries into the jungle for the first time, delivering all of the materials to build and furnish their houses. We’ve taken part in celebrating the first believers in a village. We’ve witnessed elders being appointed for the first time, baptisms, and Bible dedications – truly amazing events to be a part of! We even call them the “highlight reel” for our lives. And they really are! This past Saturday, we were able to add another event to our “highlight reel” and it is, quite possibly, the best one yet. We celebrated our kids’ faith in Jesus through their baptisms. It was a cold and rainy day, in a cold pool, in the middle of the desert, with our friends and co-workers. Our kids are 17, 15 and 13 and have all been following Jesus for quite some time now, but this was their public declaration and celebration of what Jesus has done for them. There is no greater joy than seeing your own children choose to follow their Savior. We have seen God working in their lives and we look forward to seeing where He leads them in the years ahead. |
