I guess I’ll have to start from the beginning. The first time I heard what a Neti Pot was, I was quite disgusted. All of my family calls me “Nettie” and now there was a nasty nose cleaning devise with my nickname in the title. Then my husband started calling me Neti Pot. There was no way that was going to last longer than a day! Gross.

So where am I going with all this hate? Last week my allergies started kicking in. I am in no way, shape or form a pill taker, especially while pregnant, so I found myself in a pickle. I did some research online only to find my deepest fear to be true. A Neti Pot seemed my only answer for relief. After days of being miserable, I broke down and bought one. Then it sat in the cupboard for days because I was afraid of it. Today was the day. With the windows open and me barely being able to breath, I finally caved.

Was it as bad as I thought it would be? Yes. It may have actually been worse. Did it make my nose feel nice after? To my disappointment and relief, yes. I am sad because tomorrow I will probably be using the blasted thing again. I have not even shared with you the best part of it all. My sweet, loving, caring husband came in the kitchen to be what I thought was supportive… and then he pulls out the camera. He did indeed document the occasion even after I begged him not to. Oh and his words of encouragement were “If Oprah can do it, so can you.” Thanks Sweetie! So here is the most unattractive, gross picture ever.

Yes.
