This month has been rockin for us. We are solidifying all those pesky little details of what it takes to get into the Jungle … and stay there. As you know from our blog and facebook posts, we’ve had a ground issue or ‘graun hevi’. The Pei village is on another tribal groups land. There have been some issues there in the tribe. But we’ve met with the people and they are going to arrange a day where we go into the village with all the Papa Grauns and sign a contract with all of the ‘Bikman’ or the leaders to make sure we don’t have tons of problems in the early days of allocating and language learning. It was great to see some of our new tribal friends and know they are working to get us in there! Please pray for the process to go smoothly.

Building Material

We have also been busy getting all of the supplies together to build simple yet functional homes that will last and server as our ministry center for the duration of our time in the Jungle. We are about to purchase most of the materials for our homes. We have batteries and solar panels, electrical boxes and plumbing, and tons of plywood and tin roofing to prepare for shipping into the jungle. It is a lot of work and a sort of dance as we are allocating at the same time as two other Church Planting Teams. Remember when your first house was being built or remodeled? All the small things that are easily forgotten during this time are compounded when considering transportation into a remote Tribal Village… But man is it fun!

The boat that will make the 2 hour commute!

Lastly, we had a new addition to our Pei Team. It is a sweet 16 ft flat-bottom John boat. This boat has become our central mode of transportation to and from a local/remote airstrip that is 2 hours away from our village. Yep, it’s a 2-hour commute on an isolated river to get our milk and eggs that will have just landed on and isolated airstrip!

Justin Rees

Church Planter

Check out their websites for more details and great videos!

www.tribeordie.com

www.ntm.org/justin_rees

http://vimeo.com/user6273898/videos

The last time I updated you on the Rees family I was introducing you to the team. Well God had some different plans for the team. One of the members or families ended up being led to a different tribe and team. We are all still excited as God can use these families wherever […]

[1

0":"post-609","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","6":"category-uncategorized","7":"entry
["GET
