Soon after W W II a Buddhist family from Japan, called Ishy, immigrated to Brazil. Later, their son, Tomita, became a believer and together with his girlfriend came to study at the Brazilian Bible Institute where Gwen and I were working. The couple married, finished the three training institutes and then proceeded to a tribal work. On a furlough time while they were in southern Brazil, Tomita was in a fatal car accident and in which his wife and two daughters were severely injured. Their son, Thiago (James,) who was twelve at the time, was not in the car.
In our last letter we presented Thiago as one who is part of our translation team. How thankful we are for this second generation missionary. After completing his university training, he entered New Tribes Mission Bible Institute where, after completing the course, he has been teaching for the last two years. He just recently married Leticia, and they are faithfully serving at the Bible Institute.
Right now they are helping to organize a large “Extreme Camp”, November 12-15, for the purpose of challenging high school and college age young people with the need for missionaries to do tribal evangelism. In January, Thiago and Leticia plan to continue the two remaining phases of training, trusting the Lord to direct them into some area of reaching tribal people. They will appreciate your praying for them.
Thank you for your partnership with us.
Yours to reach the unreached!
