{"id":367,"date":"2014-07-29T12:37:30","date_gmt":"2014-07-29T16:37:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/calvin-taylor\/?p=367"},"modified":"2014-07-29T13:38:34","modified_gmt":"2014-07-29T17:38:34","slug":"august-2014-praising-the-lord","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/calvin-taylor\/2014\/07\/29\/august-2014-praising-the-lord\/","title":{"rendered":"August 2014 &#8211; Praising the Lord"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dear co-laborers,<\/p>\n<p>We count it a privilege to write again to thank you for your financial gifts so that we can continue in the translation work the Lord is giving us to do.\u00a0 We are very aware of your care for us.\u00a0 Even though we are not in Brasil, the country and the work of the mission is still very much a part of our lives.\u00a0 The technology of the day permits me to keep in constant communication with my team.\u00a0 The corrections on the translated texts go back and forth between the two countries with the click of a mouse.<\/p>\n<p>My getting used to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.parkinson.org\/Parkinson-s-Disease\/PD-101\/What-is-Parkinson-s-disease\">Parkinson\u2019s disease<\/a> continues.\u00a0 Finding a medication that meets my needs and doesn\u2019t have significant side effects has been a challenge.\u00a0 Thank you for praying.<\/p>\n<p>In these last months our hearts have been encouraged by what the Lord is doing in Gwen\u2019s home church in Kentucky.\u00a0 Both Homecoming and 70<sup>th<\/sup> anniversary meetings have brought praise and glory to the Lord for what the Lord has done and is doing there.\u00a0 Certainly in these last 70 years the Lord has affected Gwen\u2019s home community, her own family, and many others as His word has been preached.\u00a0 Gwen\u2019s own cousin has just accepted the pastorate.\u00a0 He grew up in the church and has lived and taught the Word faithfully in the community over the years.<\/p>\n<p>Now back to Brazil. Goooooooooool!\u00a0 We cheered with both the United States and Brazil during the games of the World Cup.\u00a0 Brazil is in mourning for that lost opportunity to be World Champions for the 6<sup>th<\/sup> time (more than any other country) in their own country.\u00a0 But many applaud them for their big show and reception of the world for this big event. Those of us who grew up there are also sad but today what is on our hearts are the 90 or so Brazilian tribes still needing teams of missionaries to reach them. Let\u2019s not think it impossible since the number 200 used to be the goal.<\/p>\n<p>We missed not returning to Brazil this year\u2014the first time in 15 years. My mom continues to do well in her 99<sup>th<\/sup> year;\u00a0 my sister and brother-in-law are faithfully caring for her.
