I have never done well with these: I lose my appetite, my balance, my sense of direction, my legs sort of give out and down I go to the carpet in my bedroom. Some say it’s my age.

After a week or more, the lab gave us the report that we had been praying for… “the infection is all cleared up!” How special is that! In a few days I should be clear of the medication and should be feeling better too. I told my daughter Carleen that most folks don’t go to Glory with symptoms like I have but I have been wanting to go there, especially these days. When we found out that my friend, Marginell Bulla went to Heaven yesterday, we were suddenly minus a devoted prayer intercessor for our family… and it made Heaven seem sweeter, too. Most of my friends are going on to Glory ahead of me.

It takes 3 people to help me move from the bed to a chair and back again. It is so nice to be loved… so nice! Some of the faces of the helpers are new to me. She remembers her children swimming in my pool when I lived in the East Brazil area and that I taught the Bible to them. She even remembers me wearing some of these dresses still hanging in my closet. A number of people had problems with drunkenness and they would come to my house to plead for prayer… she was fully aware that God was saving the drunks (she knew them well) and transforming their lives way back then. You know, the Lord is not finished working on her yet – He brought her to my bedside and I can still pray for her salvation many years later!!! It was either a pulled muscle or a cracked rib. She remembers people picking me up and squeezing me tightly so that I wouldn’t crumble to the floor. They did it with much love, but it sure hurt. She prayed with me for much wisdom and had the physical therapist come and use his machine on me. It took away the inflammation! There was no crack at all! He also taught my kids to help me to my feet in a more comfortable way, encouraging me to take steps and then sit comfortably in my wheel chair. Did you hear me say “take steps”? I took at least 6 good steps today!!! Oh, it feels so good to be getting better.

I had a nice supper and am now tucked into a warm bed on this cold night… sound asleep… while my daughter writes up the events of the last few weeks. Thank you for remembering me in prayer. I have a lot of phlegm which causes problems every time I am in bed.
