PART 2
Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4
Some mornings we also walk down to a nearby supermarket for items we can’t get in the market. It’s always nice to enjoy the AC they have inside. We also buy fruit from the fruit stand out front.
It’s almost time to start preparing lunch! Since we have classes in our house right after lunch, we feed all the various people who are here for the class, as well as others who occasionally drop in. We’ve had up to nine people here for lunch (ourselves included).
Thankfully, we are able to divide up the lunch prep duties. Every Wednesday, the girl who helps around the house cooks as well. She is an excellent cook.
One day a week, Cameron is in charge of lunch. He usually (always) makes chicken sandwiches from the chicken we get at the market. They have been a big hit!
The rest of the days fall to Katy.
Occasionally we will buy “bowl meals” from a lady who serves food on the street in front of us. It is always good.
It is always a good time of fellowship around the meal. We enjoy this time as it is usually all in French.
Once the meal is over, it is time to start class. The class time is very full. The class is designed to focus on listening and speaking, rather than rote memory. It has been exciting to see the progress.
While we are in class, a lady watches Gracia and Calvin out in the rest of the apartment. They enjoy their time with her, and she is great with kids. She is a strong believer and it has been encouraging listening to her tell her testimony.
