I love Thanksgiving! This year we’re trying a new Thanksgiving tradition, in honor of Thanksgiving, every night this month we each pick one thing we’re thankful for. Calvin usually picks about three…but hey…can’t be too thankful, can ya?
I thought I’d share somethings I’m thankful to God for this year.
I’m thankful for this girl. I’m so glad she entered our life exactly when she did! I love spending time with her!
I’m thankful for my Calvin, sometimes when I think back to that first phone call, “We need a place for a 4 year old boy tonight, he probably won’t be with you long.” We had no clue what to do, if we had just said, “No, not this time.” then he wouldn’t be a part of our family now. And that was just the beginning, I don’t have time to write out the whole story, but in short…I’m thankful for him. I love his boyish-ness and his creativity never ceases to amaze me!
I’m thankful for Cameron and our almost 10 years of marriage! Right now I’m particularly thankful that he’s homeschooling the kids, so I can keep up with my French studies.
I’m thankful for our families that though they miss their grand-kids, they are understanding and supportive of us living overseas, because they too understand the bigger purpose.
I’m thankful for friends we’ve made here, so we don’t feel lonely or “depayse,” a French word that I haven’t found a good English equivalent for, but it means not in your own country. So basically our friends help us feel at home here.
I’m also grateful for our mission organization and co-workers that made our initial adjustment here much smoother and that they continue to give us encouragement and counsel.
Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and let’s keep thanking God just as much all year round!
