Hot Water? Oh Yes!
Nearly every expatriate that visits my apartment comments on the hot water. Here are the reasons. It is common for a home to only have one source of hot water – a unit in the shower that immediately heats the water. Few bathroom or kitchen sinks are even equipped with a hot water faucet. People touring our apartment are impressed to see that we have hot water heaters for three bathrooms including our our sinks. Then they see we have a hot water heater for our kitchen sink and their awe makes me feel guilty for having such a nice set up.
With all that said here are the things to remember – you have to turn the water heater on! If you forget, you’ll remember pretty quickly when you start your shower. It only takes 20 or 30 minutes to heat up and your shower will be worth the wait! You also want to turn the water heater off due to the fact that it sucks up electricity when you leave it run needlessly.
Yes, I am very grateful for hot water!
